Behind the Curtain

Hello, we are Yannick Tanita and Alf - and Curtain Call is our passion project.

It all started on a perfectly normal evening. We were sitting with family, had played a print-at-home murder mystery dinner, and had a lot of fun. We often played murder mysteries with friends, siblings, or parents. After this game, however, something struck us:

For each of these evenings, we spend 20-30 Euros and can only play it once because there's a predetermined ending. Also, the acting is limited to what the character knows and doesn't know. There's usually not much room for interpretation.
And why do you always only play in a crime case setting? Aren't there countless other settings where it would be exciting to take on a role? Things we've only known from film and television?

At that moment, the first idea for Curtain Call was born on paper.

After a few weeks, we had finalized the prototype of the first edition together. We tested it for the first time on Yannick's parents' terrace.

And it worked. Better than we expected. Driven by this positive result, we optimized and further developed the game, incorporating all feedback from our loved ones. We were so motivated that we immediately developed, tested, and optimized the second edition. After that, we were ready to create this online shop.

What drives us to this day is quite simple: we want to create evenings that are memorable. Not because you won. Not because you had the right answer. But because for a few hours, you were someone else and discovered aspects of yourself and those around you that you hadn't known before.

We are not a big publisher. Not a company with investors and a marketing department. We are two people who built a product they would have loved to play themselves - and who hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Every edition you buy is developed with genuine care. The characters are played before they are released. Feedback from real people goes into every version. And if something isn't right, we work on it until it is.
